About

Hi, I’m Katherine, a forty-something queer woman managing ADHD, anxiety, and depression. The name Happy & Anxious reflects how I often feel—one emotion I actively cultivate, the other I consciously manage.

Over time, I found myself having the same deep, vulnerable conversations about mental health, boundaries, relationships, and how hard it can be to simply function when life feels overwhelming. Not because I had all the answers—but because I’ve lived it. I know what it’s like to move through the world with big feelings, high-functioning anxiety, and a deep desire for peace.

Eventually, I realized I didn’t want to keep those conversations private. I wanted to create a space for people who don’t know where to start—who maybe haven’t even realized how much better life can feel. Sometimes we don’t know we’re in survival mode until we’re finally on the other side. I’ve stayed in that space for years myself.

This blog is for anyone who wants to feel more whole, more grounded, and more like themselves in every room they walk into. It’s a mix of personal insight, emotional tools, and honest reminders that you’re not alone—and that healing is possible.

I promise not to hold back or sugarcoat anything. No empty promises, no “just think positive” advice—because that’s not how real healing works. What I do believe is that we have so much more power than we’ve been taught. And that change is possible, even when it feels out of reach.

If any of this resonates with you, then this little project has already served its purpose.
